New Meet in Gorzów for Top Jumpers


Almost 40 athletes are to compete in the new, international track and field Bronze World Tour meet in Gorzów, Poland. Gorzów Jump Festival will feature high and long jumpers from USA, Mexico, Iceland, Ukraine, Poland or Sweden.  

The new meet that received a World Athletics Bronze Tour category is organized by ALKS AJP Gorzów (a local track and field club) and the city of Gorzów. The highly anticipated event will take place at Arena Gorzów and kick off on January 30th at 17:30. Participants from all over the world - including a long jump World Champion Marquis Dendy from the United States - will compete in two events: high jump and long jump. Men's high jump field include such prominent performers as: Edgar Rivera (Mexico, 4th at the World Championships in 2017), Manuel Lando (silver medalist at the Italian Championship 2024) and a local hero Maciej Lepiato (Start Gorzów), who brought home four medals (twice gold) from four different Summer Paralympics.    

Among women participants in the high jump event are two national champions: a Swede Ellen Ekholm, and Maria Zodzik from Poland. Long jump will feature many winners: Piotr Tarkowski and Nikola Horowska (Poland), Tilde Johansson (Sweden), Daniel Ingi Egilsson (Iceland), Vlad Mazur (Ukraine), Antriana Gkogka (Greece) and Dendy (USA).
